Click the Donate button to join us in bringing critical connectivity to communities in Chocó through Starlink connectivity kits, each equipped with a Starlink Mini, power bank, and solar panel. We’ve raised enough to provide 10 kits and are continuing to raise funds to keep these connections active throughout the recovery efforts. Your support can help ensure that communities and relief organizations can stay connected when communication matters most. Our goal is to ultimately donate the kits to organizations with the resources to sustain connectivity for these communities long after the immediate recovery period.

Why We Exist

Origin + Culture was created to build meaningful connections between travelers and Afro-Colombian communities. Through cultural exchange, education, and economic empowerment, we create experiences that honor heritage, support local leaders, and strengthen connections across the African diaspora.

Community First

Origin + Culture was born out of relationships, not tourism. Long before the organization existed, its founders were involved in community spaces, cultural initiatives, educational programs, and grassroots efforts throughout Medellín. As a result of those relationships and years of community engagement, we were often sought out to help connect visitors, students, and organizations with local leaders and experiences.

Today, we continue to approach our work with the same commitment to respect, reciprocity, and accountability. We believe cultural exchange should create value for everyone involved, ensuring that community voices remain at the center and that connections are built through mutual learning rather than extraction.
