Our vision is to grow a community that creates allies from the global diaspora in support of local movements and entrepreneurs. We aim to create a world where traveling is not just about visiting new places, but also about learning from different cultures and making a positive impact on the communities we visit.
About Origin + Culture
Origin + Culture is a nonprofit organization based in Medellín, Colombia, founded in 2022 by Andrea Ardila and Juan David Arias. Inspired by their strong connection to Afro-Colombian culture and its diverse communities, they set out to create a platform that fosters social impact through meaningful collaboration. What started as a small grassroots effort has since grown into a dynamic organization with multiple community-driven projects across Medellín and beyond.
From the beginning, Origin + Culture has been dedicated to supporting historically marginalized groups, with a focus on the Afro-Colombian community. By working hand in hand with local movements, the organization serves as an ally and advocate, amplifying voices and promoting sustainable change.
Through cultural initiatives, educational programs, and community outreach, Origin + Culture is dedicated to honoring and empowering the people who embody the rich culture, resilience, and diversity of Medellín.
