The Economic Empowerment Network is a growing initiative aimed at building a supportive community of Afro-Colombian business owners, creatives, and change-makers. Through this network, we aim to foster collaboration, provide access to resources, and create spaces for education, visibility, and growth. By highlighting and amplifying Afro-Colombian businesses and entrepreneurs, the program supports economic mobility, self-sufficiency, and long-term success within the local community.

Fueling Black Entrepreneurship

The Economic Empowerment Network is designed to provide tangible support for Afro-Colombian entrepreneurs, creatives, and changemakers. Through mentorship, resource sharing, and collaborative opportunities, we aim to foster business growth and economic sustainability within the community.

Mentorship & Learning

Participants will have access to workshops, training sessions, and one-on-one mentorship focused on key areas such as marketing, finance, and business development.

Networking & Resources

We facilitate connections among local business owners, allowing for the exchange of resources, knowledge, and support that can drive long-term success.

Global Connections

By uniting Afro-Colombians and the diaspora living or traveling in Colombia, the network creates space for collaboration, cultural exchange, and economic empowerment.

Origin + Culture is committed to actively supporting Afro-Colombian businesses through intentional partnerships and initiatives that keep resources circulating within the community. Through our work, we prioritize local vendors and Black-owned venues for all of our events, ensuring that our gatherings not only celebrate culture but also directly benefit the people who shape it.

We’re proud to collaborate with talented and impactful Black-owned businesses and organizations, including:

Afro UdeA – A student-led organization dedicated to Afro-Colombian advocacy, education, and cultural promotion at the University of Antioquia.
Harle Design – Specializing in photography and graphic design as facilitators of culture, Harle Design offers services in digital and print design, branding, photography, and more.
Andaluf – A restaurant bringing the flavors of Chocó to Medellín. Known for its authentic Chocoan cuisine, Andaluf features traditional dishes and beverages like viche, sourced directly from farmers in their region.

Through these partnerships and more, we aim to foster an ecosystem of support, visibility, and empowerment.
