English Conversation Club
Opening Doors,
One Conversation at a Time
Our English Conversation Club creates a welcoming space for Afro-Colombian community members to practice and improve their English through conversation and cultural exchange. This program not only supports language learning, which can open doors to educational and career opportunities, but also offers travelers a chance to engage and give back. For visitors, it’s a meaningful way to connect with the local culture, while for participants, it’s a powerful tool for empowerment and growth.
Speaking English can open doors to a wide range of opportunities for local Colombians, from increased job prospects both locally and remotely, to access to scholarships and educational programs abroad. It also supports business growth and personal development by allowing individuals to connect with global networks and resources. The English Conversation Club is designed to help community members build these language skills, creating pathways to greater economic mobility and long-term success.

Where Language Meets Community
The English Conversation Club meets weekly in Medellín and welcomes Afro-Colombian participants of all levels to practice speaking in a relaxed, supportive environment. Sessions are guided by local bilingual facilitators and visiting native English speakers, fostering an authentic space for language learning and cultural exchange. Participation is free for the local community, and each session focuses on real-life topics, encouraging confidence, connection, and growth.
